• Operate Shelter facilities.
• Perform a variety of routine administrative and field duties related to planning, coordinating, and implementing Shelter operations.
• Provide general to close direct supervision to all Shelter employee and volunteer staffs.
• Ensure humane treatment of all Shelter animals.

The Snake River Animal Shelter in Idaho Falls, Idaho, is looking for an ambitious person as a Shelter Manager for their new facility. This person would plan, direct, and manage the Shelter’s day-to-day operations as well as the Shelter staff and volunteers. This would include overseeing records, tracking systems, reporting practices and databases. This person would need experience and education pertaining to animals, kenneling, and sheltering and be able to work with the public along with staff and volunteers. They would report to a board of directors and need to be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays as directed. The Snake River Animal Shelter is a new nonprofit facility in Idaho Falls serving the Upper Snake River Valley to promote adoptable animals, and offer innovative adoption programs coordinated by a capable caring staff and volunteers. This person would also need to be able to perform the physical duties of an Animal Shelter Manager including some heavy lifting, working with potentially difficult animals and working with the kennels and equipment of an animal shelter.

Qualifications - Education and Experience
• High school graduate.
• Some college preferred (preferably in an animal-related course). AND
• Three (3) years supervisory/management experience providing knowledge, skills, and abilities (preferably in an animal-related facility).
• Must possess valid driver’s license.

This is a full time job.
